"XML registries are a vital component in the implementation of shared data exchanges. Developers looking to express information using XML need support in establishing common lexicons and grammars." - DoD XML Registry home page
Searchable registry of both XML Schemas and DTDs divided into over 40 categories. Anyone can submit a schema, provided they register their name, email address, and other basic contact information first.
Contains hundreds of DTDs and related links divided into over 60 categories; generally older than the XML.org Registry. As of late Oct. 2002, the link to http://www.xml.org/xml/registry.jsp is no longer valid. DTD info appears to have been folded into the Schemas/DTDs in XML.org Registry above.
"This Registry enables the consistent use of XML, both vertically within projects and horizontally across organizations. The DoD XML Registry constitutes guidance in the generation and use of XML among DoD communities of interest and is the authoritative source for registered XML data and metadata components." - DoD XML Registry home page
This prototype is under development by NIST for the Federal CIO Council's XML Working Group.
Contains over 200 related DTDs and their XML Schema counterparts. Also contains whitepapers for ebXML, RosettaNet, or BizTalk integration. "The OAGI (Open Applications Group, Inc.) has developed the largest set of business messages and integration scenarios for enterprise application integration and business-to-business (B2B) integration. However, OAGI does not specify an implementation architecture (also called an implementation framework). Three major B2B implementation architectures have been developed to this day: RosettaNet, BizTalk, and ebXML. They provide the basis for interoperability between different vendor and home-grown solutions alike. The OAGI policy is to be technology sensitive but not specific, and to use existing open standards when possible." - from the ebXML Whitepaper, Introduction
